My Sentence
Over the course of my senior year I have created a website, Sticture, in hopes to inspire others to express themselves through media, primarily photography; I have also participated in expressing myself on the website through photos and video blogging.
The end is here. That means the beginning begins.
Okay, so the end of the semester is here, and there is still a lot to do. It has not been easy to find time to work on my website. Now, I know the title of this blog may seem just a tad bit confusing. When I say "the end is hear, I am referring to the end of my first senior year semester. "That means the beginning begins", I am referring to the actual start of me working on my project can begin. During the break I won't have much time with all of the holiday events going on, but I can begin to work a bit more on gathering all of the information I need to properly inform everyone how to use the site. I am hoping to hear back from my potential panel members so they can help me with some feedback, and help me improve my site. I have not been able to contact all of my panel members directly yet, but I hope to do so through others. My panel currently, hopefully, consists of one of our board member's brother in law, Billy Stone. Kristin Skarbovig is also a potential panel member. Dale Dilworth, and Liz Thornton have already accepted to be on my panel. Billy Stone works with media/videos, hopefully he will help me with some of the video blogging I plan to include on the website. Kristin Skarbovig is part of fotofest, and has kindly offered to help me with my project I am guessing with the photography portion. I have not been able to hear from her, but I was also told by one of my teachers that she may be able to help me find someone else from fotofest to help me get in contact with a media expert. Dale Dilworth and Liz Thornton, who is in charge of the yearbook club at my school, will both help me with the putting together of the website. They can really help me improve my organization skills, like deadlines and dealing with the numerous entries I may receive. I have continued to search other sites where I could possibly create my official site. I'm doing this to make sure I can provide the best website community possible. I will continue to research ways to start up my website, and will hopefully be able to provide all the information as soon as possible. Wish me luck in this long journey. If there are any suggestions for the website I am always more than happy to hear them!

The Big Premier!
So I am going to be away for the next week. I am going to Washington D.C. with my senior class! While I am there I am pretty sure I am going to have so much to remember and I will have my sister's camera to take pictures with. I am hoping to start officially building my website by the following weekend. My first few pictures will definitely be pictures that I took while I'm in Washington D.C. As soon as I get the website somewhat up and running I will post the URL to it on one of my blogs. Once it's up I really hope people will visit the site and give me any suggestions and feedback. If there are any suggestions as to what the website should have please let me know. Just to give a brief summary to remind everyone what I am doing I will state again what this website I am starting up is all about. I am building this website in order to provide a place for anyone, mainly children/students to upload any of there work and have a story to go with it. The story can either by typed and uploaded or even posted as a video. I want this to be a place will self-expression can happen. Who knows maybe there will be replies to other work through another photograph as well, and I will also be apart of the site. I will give feedback to as many as I can and upload works of my own for others to share their ideas about my work with me as well.

A little help please?
This is not going to be a very long post, but I have a bit of a situation. I have been so busy trying to find a website creator and thinking up what I want to be on the website that I completely forgot about a title! I need a title for my website! Help! If anyone has any suggestions of ways to help me to think of one let me know. Thanks!

Websites!
I need a website creator. In order to begin the process to my project I need to have a website to start spreading the word. Just last year I used a FREE website creator, www.wix.com, and it was okay in my opinion. I used it to help my engineering class spread information about solar panels. The website was pretty good, but I wanted to try out another website creator. I finally found a website creator, www.yola.com, that seems to be pretty neat. I have not had much time to tinker with it all the way but so far it seems great. It provides the tab feature I need to link to other pages, and have more than just one set space. I have also tried to find information on young photographers in the Houston area. I have read some information on a couple but haven't really gotten around to seeing any of their photographs. I do have some u
nfortunate new to share. This Friday night someone broke into my car. Inside my car was my camera. It was stolen. I am very upset about it and hoping to get a new one soon in order to make great contributions to the website my partner and I are building. The good news is that I have dozens of photographs and videos to share in the meantime. One message I would like to send is, even if someone does not OWN a camera that should not stop them. Borrowing a camera is fine. Photography can be done pretty much through anything, even using a cell phone camera for the meantime works!

The stories behind our photographs
Photography is more than just capturing an image and having it saved on a memory card. Whenever I photograph something half of the time I do it because something memorable is occurring at that moment. The other half I am just taking pictures left and right. Just one photograph can tell an entire story. I like looking back at my pictures over the years and then talking about them with a friend for hours. All photographs are treasures. Some people know how to appreciate them and others don't. The important thing to remember is that they are OUR photographs, so even if someone else finds no meaning in it to you it will always have meaning. Some of our simple photographs can even become famous if the brave chance is ever taken to submit it somewhere. This TED talk really gets the point across about photographs that tell stories. It even somewhat touches up on a project that is very similar to the one I plan to work on this year. ENJOY!

Not with Yearbook? No Problem!
I'm not in yearbook and I'm a bit upset about it, but I have no time. I love photography and always want to take pictures and show them around. Obviously, doing that isn't always easy. Now as a senior and living in a split up family no one really has time. I love taking pictures and recording videos and want others to see them and even maybe have some published somewhere. The only chance of that happening would have been if I was in yearbook. So, although I am not in yearbook I want to provide another opportunity for those of us who want our photography shown and shared with our fellow classmates, teachers and even visitors! I want to start up a website and have students send in pictures and videos they want the world to see! I am partnering with Alejandra Rodriguez and together we will build this website to give everyone an opportunity to express themselves through media. We have also decided that each month we will hold a contest for the top picture and/or video!
