The end is here. That means the beginning begins.

Okay, so the end of the semester is here, and there is still a lot to do. It has not been easy to find time to work on my website. Now, I know the title of this blog may seem just a tad bit confusing. When I say "the end is hear, I am referring to the end of my first senior year semester. "That means the beginning begins", I am referring to the actual start of me working on my project can begin. During the break I won't have much time with all of the holiday events going on, but I can begin to work a bit more on gathering all of the information I need to properly inform everyone how to use the site. I am hoping to hear back from my potential panel members so they can help me with some feedback, and help me improve my site. I have not been able to contact all of my panel members directly yet, but I hope to do so through others. My panel currently, hopefully, consists of one of our board member's brother in law, Billy Stone. Kristin Skarbovig is also a potential panel member. Dale Dilworth, and Liz Thornton have already accepted to be on my panel. Billy Stone works with media/videos, hopefully he will help me with some of the video blogging I plan to include on the website. Kristin Skarbovig is part of fotofest, and has kindly offered to help me with my project I am guessing with the photography portion. I have not been able to hear from her, but I was also told by one of my teachers that she may be able to help me find someone else from fotofest to help me get in contact with a media expert. Dale Dilworth and Liz Thornton, who is in charge of the yearbook club at my school, will both help me with the putting together of the website. They can really help me improve my organization skills, like deadlines and dealing with the numerous entries I may receive. I have continued to search other sites where I could possibly create my official site. I'm doing this to make sure I can provide the best website community possible. I will continue to research ways to start up my website, and will hopefully be able to provide all the information as soon as possible. Wish me luck in this long journey. If there are any suggestions for the website I am always more than happy to hear them!

  1. You have to be persistent with those potential panel members, if you don't they are not going to come to you. You seem to have a plan but you should be more descriptive in exactly what you will do over the break regarding your website. Are your panel members gonna help you build it or are you just curious to know what they think of it?

  2. As well as any senior should, you should try and make sure you have your panel members before the beginning of the next semester. I myself am struggling to get the assurance of my panel members, so I understand that. You have quite the diverse panel, each with different skills that will definitely contribute to your project. One of the responsibilities for our panel is to grade us. Think about how each one will grade you, yeah sure they're in different fields, but what specifics will they be looking and grading you on. Another thing is, how exactly are you going to raise awareness of your project and how will you inform those who know about it, in using it. Perhaps there can be an accessible page on the sticture website for instructions, meaning and use of the web page. Also in agreement with Chassidy, what can be done during the break to get you up and running for next semester, when we can truly focus on our projects.
