Not with Yearbook? No Problem!
I'm not in yearbook and I'm a bit upset about it, but I have no time. I love photography and always want to take pictures and show them around. Obviously, doing that isn't always easy. Now as a senior and living in a split up family no one really has time. I love taking pictures and recording videos and want others to see them and even maybe have some published somewhere. The only chance of that happening would have been if I was in yearbook. So, although I am not in yearbook I want to provide another opportunity for those of us who want our photography shown and shared with our fellow classmates, teachers and even visitors! I want to start up a website and have students send in pictures and videos they want the world to see! I am partnering with Alejandra Rodriguez and together we will build this website to give everyone an opportunity to express themselves through media. We have also decided that each month we will hold a contest for the top picture and/or video!

What will distinguish this site from other photo sites? What is your main focus or idea? How will this extend beyond your senior year?
ReplyDeleteI think this is an excellent idea. It gives others such as yourself the chance of self expression. Perhaps you can even expand this and make it into a class just like yearbook except not yearbook. I'm not sure if that is what you are stating but if it is, great idea. perhaps even you can make a scrap book at the end of your project to show your progression.
ReplyDeleteLucy, I think it's cool that you're trying to get people's pictures to be seen! But, you know there is a way for people to upload their pictures for the yearbook even if they're not in the yearbook. On StudioWorks(the program for yearbook, there's actually an option where you can click upload. All you need is the project number. You just have to click upload and you'll be able to upload the pictures. Maybe you can talk to Eduardo and get the project number and even possibly include that link on your website so that people can upload their pictures on it?
