It's Complicated
These past two weeks have been very interesting. I think I have attempted making a site with about three or four other website builders. I have been trying to use Webs, but it constantly has problems with the site. I have tried Yola, Wix and Doodlekit. I have been able to do different things with each one in order to build up the photo blogging website I had in mind, but something always gets in the way. The main issue is money. The features I want to use on the website I am trying to create cost money: on their PREMIUM packages. I have finally figured my way around all this. Because I have already made my trailer and advertised "STICTURE" on the Internet, it would be a big pain to tell my viewers they have to join a whole other site. So, my solution is to work with what I am provided with on Webs.com and create an online album with a separate site. The idea would be to have the album on another site, but have the link to go directly to the page on the actual "STICTURE" site. I hope to accomplish that this week so there will be no more time being wasted on trying out all these different sites in hopes for them providing them with what I need. I am thinking of using Photobucket for the album site. Are there any other suggestions for a website that can provide me with a good online photography storage?

I'm not sure I understand the album vs. website problem. Let's talk about this and try and solve it.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty dedicated to flickr -- and it seems to be a pretty universally used photosharing site.
Could you create a group in flickr for this purpose?
I also found another site a few years ago, seems like it was called photoblog or something like that. In any of these already established places, you could create a group for teenagers to express themselves. Take a look at the 100 Strangers group in flickr?
You might tell us more about the various features of the different photo sites, what they are good for, etc., since you did all that work?
