Well, hello there!
So this week was a pretty stressful week for many reasons. School, issues at home and no mainly just issues at home is the rest of it. Although, I can say this week something pretty cool happened: I met one of my panel members, Billy Stone, from Houston's Stonefilms. You can visit his site to learn a little about what he does at: Stonefilms.com. He works with the making of commercials and local information shows. It was really nice to meet him. He has a very outgoing personality and I felt very comfortable talking to him. He was up at my school interviewing some students. I was pretty surprised when I found out he was on campus. I was really nervous to meet him. He had recently replied to one of my e-mails giving me some feedback on my website. I was able to fix a few things here and there, for example, my font on the site. He said I was doing very well and that really gave me a confident boost. It let me know I was doing something right. He is very quick in giving me feedback without my asking. He also gave me this idea to make my very own logo for my site. I need to find out how I can do that on the site, but I will find a way. Soon, I will post a video on my website to give my members a better idea what the website is all about. I will be speaking to my viewers and hopefully that can help me gain more. Oh! Before I forget, I have great news! I was finally given a camera as a gift! I am not sure what the model is, but I know the name of the camera is LUMIX. It is amazing! I love it! I will upload pictures I have taken with it on the site so go check them out! Just in case you forgot my website is "STICTURE".

After being clear about what your project is doing to be, the next step is to find the people that are going to help you make your project better. Rebecca and I also struggled a bit with finding the right people to help us, but we finally did! That's why I'm so glad to hear you have actually gotten the chance to meet somebody from your panel. From what I hear, he's is actually helping you by giving you some advice. That's awesome! I just want to remind you to make the best use of him. For example, don't be afraid to ask him any questions. He obviously has a lot of knowledge in what he does, so it's always good to have a professional by your side.
ReplyDeleteYou'll be happy to know I've visited your website! I hope you are able to make some progress. Good Luck!
Thanks Brenda! I have been asking him a lot of questions! I was pretty hesitant at the beginning, but soon I realized I have a lot of questions and not much time. He gave me tips on how to spread the word about my website and what I could possibly fix on my site to make it look better. Thanks for looking at my website! I really appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear all is going well with your project as well. I can't wait to see the finishing product!
Congrats.. That's cool you actually get feedback and have already met this guy because he seems really professional and it's pretty rare to have someone who actually has fame to respond to the one's like us who are trying to get there. About your logo situation, I too have been told that I need to create a catchy logo for my cd/record label thing. So my point is that I have been researching ways to create that perfect logo and maybe this website can help you out. http://www.dirtystreetadvertising.com/articles/105-how-to-design-a-catchy-logo.html
ReplyDeleteYou can also use this in your research paper for Susan that's due on Monday. Hopefully that can help you with that.
I checked out the site and left a comment, Lucy! You've come a long way! You may refine your idea of what the site will be along the way. You might need to have "topics" that allow you to create albums and also allow you to get the word out without just saying the same thing every time. One thing I would suggest is that you join Twitter and start tweeting about your project so that you can get some people involved. Can you use FB to spread the word too?
